Background

Most likely you are familiar with Rohrback Cosasco Systems (RCS) and now is an opportune time to join our company.

Already a world leader in corrosion monitoring technology, Rohrback Cosasco Systems (RCS) is in a unique position: we are a relatively small company in a billion-dollar marketplace, and our agile entrepreneurial culture enables us to move quickly to expand our services. After enjoying a period of strong growth, RCS is poised to implement strategies that will see the company capitalize on its competitive advantages and expand into new markets.

As an experienced sales professional from our industry, you understand the true potential offered here: the combination of a stable, established company with an aggressive growth plan creates rare and exciting career opportunities.

Your Opportunity

RCS is expanding its global sales force, adding Sales Engineers in our offices around the world. As a Senior Sales Engineer you will take over leadership of our China region. You will base yourself from your home office in Shanghai and expect to travel within your region on a regular basis.

Our aim is to hire an engineer with strong sales experience within our industry (or a related industry such as instrumentation), but equally important is aptitude, ambition and energy to drive RCS's initiatives forward. If you possess the appropriate mix of experience and talent, this role will provide the ultimate platform for career success: it is highly visible role, with sponsorship reaching right up to the CEO, and it offers the potential to progress into a regional management role.

You will be well compensated for the impact you make on our company. We provide a highly competitive compensation package that includes a base salary and a performance based bonus that is unique in the industry for its earning potential. Additionally, since this is a work from home position, you will also receive an automotive allowance and assistance with a home office setup.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Some understanding of metallurgy and materials would be helpful.
  • Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time within your territory.
  • Strong (5-10 years) experience in sales, including:
    • experience developing/growing a region
    • existing relationships in the oil and gas industry
    • track record of success in consultative sales and a disciplined sales methodology
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Mandarin.

Company Profile

Rohrback Cosasco Systems (RCS) is the world leader in corrosion monitoring technology. Since 1950, RCS has provided leading-edge corrosion control solutions for such diverse industries as oil and gas, petrochemical, water treatment, chemical, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical, and utilities. Corrosion is an enormous cost to these industries as measured in equipment maintenance and replacement, leaks, and system failures. RCS helps dramatically reduce this waste by delivering corrosion detection, extending equipment and asset life. RCS offers a wide range of corrosion monitoring services including:
  • Corrosion surveys
  • Specification writing
  • Project planning
  • Project engineering
  • System design
  • System and corrosion data analysis
  • Education and Certification
  • Data acquisition, analysis, and web based reporting
  • Installation and commissioning of RCS equipment
  • Coupon and probe insertion, retrieval and processing
  • Retrofits and hot tapping

Position Details

This is not a role where status quo management will generate the impact we expect. Rather, it is a role for an experienced sales professional to develop breakthrough strategies and establish an even stronger local presence for RCS.

After an initial training period in our US offices (Santa Fe Springs, California), you will take over management of your territory. We expect you to make an impact within three to six months, and to have made significant gains within a year. So, while planning and developing your strategies is important, your ability to translate these ideas into action and results quickly, is critical.

On an ongoing basis, you will work with your customers to understand and interpret detailed system requirements that may include electronic instrumentation, mechanical valves, fittings, high-pressure access systems, and software. Your specific duties will include initial customer visits, coordinating quotations in response to customer enquiries, closure of sales, and providing after sales support to the customer.

Keys to Success

A high growth environment such as ours demands flexible individuals who are able to adapt to changing operational structures, product portfolios, and more. As a senior member of our sales team, key to your success will be your ability to sustain your excellence over time and despite a changing corporate and product landscape. Continually "raising the bar" can be a challenge, but one that the right person for this role will embrace.

Traditional sales qualities that are also important include:
  • Self-starter mentality, with no need for direct supervision
  • Highly motivated and customer centric
  • Empathetic and good listening skills
  • Able to prioritize and meet quotas and deadlines
If this sounds like the appropriate mix of challenge and opportunity for you, we look forward to hearing from you.

We are an equal opportunity employer. EOE M/F/D/V
