The following description is quite detailed. Our intention is to provide insight into the opportunity so that you can make a well-informed choice.

Background

Not many companies are in the position Rohrback Cosasco Systems (RCS) is in today -- and not many companies can offer the career opportunities that RCS can. . .

Already a world leader in corrosion monitoring technology, Rohrback Cosasco Systems (RCS) is embarking on an initiative that will see the company triple in size over the next few years. RCS is in a unique position: we are a relatively small company in a billion-dollar marketplace, and our agile entrepreneurial culture enables us to move quickly to expand our services and capitalize on new opportunities. And, our diverse client base includes companies in oil and gas, petrochemical, water treatment, chemical, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical, and utilities, industries that continue to prosper despite the current economy.

This combination of a stable, established company with a structured and explosive growth plan creates rare and exciting career opportunities, which leads to where you will fit in. . .

Your Opportunity

RCS is expanding its global sales force, adding entry level and experienced Sales Engineers in our offices around the world. In this role, you will manage a territory which will include the Mid-Atlantic states.

We are open to candidates with up to two years of sales experience and a Bachelor's degree in chemical, electrical or mechanical engineering. More important than experience, however, is aptitude, ambition and energy to drive RCS's exciting initiatives forward. If this describes you, then this is a rare opportunity to:
  • Demonstrate your potential in a highly visible role.
  • Put yourself on a career path that can lead to management opportunities.
  • Have your suggestions heard and implemented in a company that values and acts on employee ideas.
  • Enjoy the dynamic culture of an entrepreneurial company.
  • Have the training and support of a manager who is an experienced, highly successful sales executive.
  • Work as a member of a supportive sales team with a culture of success.
  • Earn an outstanding income that is a mixture of a highly competitive base and a lucrative incentive plan.

Our Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Up to two years of sales related experience.
  • Some understanding of metallurgy and materials would be helpful.
  • Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time within your territory.
Critical attributes:
  • Self-starter, with no need for direct supervision
  • Highly motivated and customer centric
  • Empathetic and good listening skills
  • Able to prioritize and meet quotas and deadlines
  • Interest in a career in sales

More About Your Role

This is not a "sink or swim" sales environment -- quite the opposite. Our goal is to give you the tools and support required to be a success, so you'll start with in-depth product specific training.

Once you are up to speed, you'll take ownership of a territory that includes clients across the mid-Atlantic region. You will inherit a book of business and be challenged to 1) expand the existing business and 2) source new clients to expand your portfolio.

Your day-to-day work will include partnering with customers to understand and interpret detailed system requirements that may include electronic instrumentation, mechanical valves, fittings, high-pressure access systems, and software. You will:
  • Perform initial customer visits
  • Coordinate quotations in response to customer enquiries
  • Close sales
  • Provide after sales support to the customer
You will work closely with your manager and the sales team, as well as our marketing and customer service departments. Many of our sales and customer support team members are engineers, so you'll enjoy working with an experienced and knowledgeable team.

If this sounds like the right mix of challenge and opportunity for you, we look forward to hearing from you!
